Dabao Open Hardware Hackathon

About the event
CrossBar hosts the Dabao Open Hardware Hackathon in Mumbai on Thursday and Friday, November 5-6, 2026. The 24-hour hardware and firmware sprint challenges engineers to build cryptographic security applications on open-source silicon.
What to expect
Participants receive hardware kits featuring the Dabao RISC-V open evaluation board and Daric security chip:
- 24 hours of collaborative prototyping, firmware programming, and hardware integration.
- Mentorship from CrossBar's silicon architects, cryptographic engineers, and embedded systems veterans.
- Hackathon tracks covering hardware authenticator keys, physical unclonable function (PUF) biometric sensors, offline multi-party computation signers, and supply-chain verification tooling.
- Final live demonstrations before a judging panel, with cash prizes and grant opportunities for winning projects.
- Fully catered meals, energy drinks, and hardware debugging stations with logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
Who should attend
The hackathon is ideal for embedded systems programmers, C/Rust firmware developers, hardware engineers, electrical engineering students, and cybersecurity researchers.
Venue and schedule
The hackathon takes place at a dedicated maker space in Mumbai, starting at 10:00 IST on Thursday, November 5, and concluding with presentations at 14:00 IST on Friday, November 6.
